Writing and editing for the web

Writing is a core skill for professional life, whether you’re working up the words yourself, or editing from a range of sources. In this very practical workshop we’ll take you through the nine key stages to produce content that works.

programme

Suitable for anyone responsible for authoring or managing online content, this is an intensive small-group workshop where we spend much of the day working on examples of your real writing.

The programme covers:

  • identifying goals for your web content
  • understanding your audience(s)
  • how users read and use web content
  • using plain English and demolishing walls of words
  • effective techniques for editing  and organising content
  • using figures, graphs and illustrations
  • choosing and using links
  • testing content for usability
  • reviewing and renewing

A key feature of all Effortmark courses is the work we do to understand the specific needs of your organisation and staff. This enables us to tailor the material and examples  in order to make all elements fully relevant to how the day’s learning will be used in practice.
